Rock fishing
Just recently I had a bash at lure fishing off the coast. I chose a rocky venue with the hope of finding some wrasse. The weather was pretty rough but happy to say I survived and caught some fish, result!
How sharp are these hooks?
It happens to us all at some point and it’s my second time. Tune in to watch me get in a right pickle with a hook in my finger and a pike at the same time.
Canal lure fishing proving tough - part 3
Part 3 in the series of canal fishing showing my mini adventure trying to get in to some perch. As the series is shown, canal lure fishing isn’t always as easy as many in social media are making out and that the reality is that we all have it tough. Part 3 sees me try a new spot and catch a few fish while sharing my thoughts as I go.

Northern Lure Bash 2022
Since we haven’t had one for a few years I thought it was about time we had another lure meet up. The idea being to have a laugh, try and catch a few fish but also try and help others catch a few fish. So if you are struggling with anything, want to learn something new, watch a few demos then read on for all the info you need.
Location of the Northern Lure Bash Is now confirmed. As it’s short notice we are going back to one of our previous venues. Thwaite Watermill in Leeds is the meeting point. We will have access to canal section from here right down to Woodlesford Lock and since here in Yorkshire it will be brown trout season we will also have access to the river. The canal has pike to 20lb plus and perch to 3lb with chub showing up in places. The river is not much a numbers trout venue but could throw up a ridiculous fish eating lump!
I would recommend bringing a light lure set up and travelling light. Worth while bringing a pike set if that’s your thing but with so many other anglers about it won’t be a numbers day for you. If you want to bring the big lures for some help and advice that’s fine.
Parking is on the P at Thwaite watermill and this is where we will start the day. You are free to do your own thing, watch a demo or two or tag along with other more experienced anglers. Leave the egos behind, bring your fun helpful faces and if you want to learn anything just ask!
Sunday 24th April 2022
Day tickets are £5 unless you already have the Leeds & District ASA yearbook.
Search function added
A simple search tool now added to the site. This will help you search quickly for what you want. For example just search “PIke” and it will throw up a list of everything on the shop suitable for pike fishing. Annoyingly you have to go back to the home page to find the search button once again but at least we have a button now. Happy searching!
Webshop facelift
Thank you for visiting this webshop. Currently the website is being built and the stock is being added as fast as i can between nappy changes. Obviously little Charlies nappy not mine. Check back often to keep up to date with what’s been added or sign up to recieve notifications. The old shop is gone due to some issues with my hosting provider.
Hopefully this new host and new design will provide a better all round experience for you to enable you to buy your tackle without the blocky design or lag on my old shop. Anyway, tight lines and enjoy your fishing.
